New Line Acquires Paper Wings
LOS ANGELES (Jan. 31, 2006) - New Line Cinema has bought the rodeo and country music-themed screenplay Paper Wings , written by Les Bohem and to be produced by Marty Bowen.
The story revolves around a young rodeo champion struggling between his career and his romance with an up-and-coming country singer. Bohem and Bowen developed the story last year at the Nashville Screenwriters Conference, which Bohem organizes annually with Karen Murphy.
Bohem, whose credits include The Alamo and Steven Spielberg's sci-fi miniseries "Taken," has already written several songs for Paper Wings. He was a member of the bands Sparks and Gleaming Spires in the 1970s and 1980s.
New Line production executives Cale Boyter and Sam Brown will oversee the project.
